This two-day intensive course is intended to provide the attendee with an overview of the essential fundamentals and underpinning principles of laparoscopic colorectal surgery using a series of live operating sessions.
The course, convened by the renowned Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon Prof. P. N. Haray and supported by an experienced faculty, is also suitable for experienced colorectal surgeons who wish to enhance their understanding and attain invaluable tips to perform laparoscopic colorectal surgery in an effective manner.
The days will encompass a series of live demonstrations of common colorectal operations such as right and left hemicolectomy, and anterior resection interspersed with lectures. The main emphasis of the course is to provide a basis for safe laparoscopic colorectal surgery using a systematic step-wise approach to various procedures.

Topics covered will include: Patient selection, relevant anatomy, equipment, theatre set-up, pre- and post-operative management and outcomes, enhanced recovery programs and emergency surgery. Please see the course programme for further details.
Suitable for:
Consultants and senior trainees in general/colorectal surgery from both the UK and beyond.
There will be ample opportunities to interact with the faculty during the live operative sessions as well as during the lectures. A course dinner will also be organised on the evening of the first day.
Places are limited and will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
